Tripura Medical College and Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Memorial Teaching Hospital, also known as TMC, is a state government medical college (run by the government's SFTMC "Society For TMC"). The Tripura government established the society. TMC is located in Tripura's capital, Agartala, India. The college runs the Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Memorial Teaching Hospital (previously the district hospital) on its campus. The campus is in Hapania, Bishalgarh sub-division of West Tripura district.

The Government of Tripura and Global Educational Net (GENET) formed a Public-Private Partnership to establish the college in 2005, making it India's first of its kind. However, it received its first MCI permission to admit students to the M.B.B.S. course in 2006. However, during the months of April and May 2009, the GENET stated that they were unable to continue running the institution for various reasons. At the time, 200 students were pursuing the M.B.B.S. program from there. So, on May 23, 2009, the Government of Tripura decided to run the college through a society and registered a society under the name and style of " Society for Tripura Medical College".
