Study MBBS In Kerala

The full form of MBBS is Medicine Bachelor and Bachelor of Surgery is an undergraduate medical course consisting of five and a half years plus an internship period lasting six months. Admission into Kerala's MBBS course is highly sought-after by prospective candidates wishing to further their medical education there; access depends on a candidate's NEET score.

NEET (National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test for Medicine and Biology School Admissions) is a national entrance exam that assesses knowledge and aptitude in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.

Kerala MBBS admission provides candidates with an opportunity to enter into medical careers that make positive impacts in people's lives.

The admissions procedure involves meeting eligibility requirements, applying, and selecting.

Candidates aspiring to enrol in an MBBS course must fulfil these three elements, register online with their chosen university, and go through an evaluation procedure using valid NEET scores as part of this selection process.

Kerala Medical and Dental Admissions Authority (KEAM) usually opens admissions for MBBS courses annually in May or June. Candidates who earn good scores in entrance exams tend to have greater odds of securing seats through counselling and joining their chosen college before the last week of August 2025.

CEE Kerala is responsible for administering MBBS and BDS admissions in Kerala, and qualifying for the NEET exam is mandatory to secure admissions here.

Our statistics can be summarized as follows: Candidates: 116010

1555 MBBS seats across 10 government colleges, 2100 seats at 19 private medical colleges, and 100 at one deemed university; these figures give an idea of the potential availability.

Consequently: CEE Kerala administers Government College seats, while Deemed universities also have seats available. Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences in Kochi is Kerala's sole deemed university offering MBBS degrees and 100 seats; domicile rules guarantee at least 85% state quota seats.

Apart from the 15% All India Quota seats, 85% of seats follow state counselling procedures, in which candidates must have passed their 10th and 12th exams within that state.

Candidates must present valid address proof in their state. A state quota applies to candidates meeting one of these categories:

CATEGORY ELIGIBILITY
Indian Nationals Eligible
Non-Resident Indians (NRI) Eligible
Persons of Indian Origin (PIO) Eligible
Overseas Citizens of India (OCI) Eligible
Foreign Nationals (Depending upon the respective state) Eligible

Admission 2025: Eligibility of Kerala MBBS

To be eligible for Kerala MBBS Admission 2025, candidates must have completed 10+2 in the Science stream.

They must take Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as mandatory subjects at school with at least 50 percent marks overall in each issue - at minimum. Finally, the NEET examination must also be passed successfully.

  • MBBS admission in Kerala is determined by a candidate's NEET score, followed by an established counselling procedure. The 2025 Examination will take place on May 7, 2025, and 85% of state quota seats in Kerala will be offered during this counselling round for 2025 admissions.
  • CEE Kerala will determine MBBS admissions in Kerala according to NEET 2025 results, exclusively online via the CEE KEAM portal, and candidates must register their scores based on NEET results for registration as an applicant for admissions into this medical course in Kerala.

Counselling 2025 of Kerala MBBS

Candidates applying to Kerala government medical and dental colleges under KEAM 2025's 85% state quota seats or 100% self-financing colleges with 100% seats available through private/self-financing arrangements for admission can appear for centralized medical counselling to apply. The following is how it works:

Once the state merit list has been announced, candidates may submit their list of courses and medical colleges in decreasing order of preference for allotment by Kerala CEE based on merit lists and available seats. Once this list has been submitted to Kerala CEE for allotment purposes, any changes to preferences cannot be made during this first round of seat allocation.

Admission Fees

To complete their selection process, candidates must pay admission fees as part of their first semester fees when confirmed as students at college. This payment serves as part of the total first-semester fee amount due.

Trial Results
Once candidates have filled in and submitted their preferences, Kerala CEE will conduct a mock seat allocation round to understand which colleges and seats might be available to them in the actual seat allocation round.

Round One Seat Allotment

Seats will be allocated based on student course and college preferences as specified on their applications, taking into account state merit list considerations. Candidates will then need to confirm their admission basis if they are satisfied with what colleges they receive in this first round of allocation; only after verifying the required documents and paying applicable fees will they secure admission.

Change College Preferences

Before the second round of counselling, Kerala CEE will open up a window enabling registered candidates to modify their list of preferred colleges and courses.

Change of Inclinations

Preceding the second round of directing, Kerala CEE will open up a window for shifting school and direction inclinations of enrolled competitors. This allows registered individuals to make updates or deletions to their desired colleges/courses.

Seat Allotment Round 2

If seats remain vacant after the initial round of counselling, a second round of seat allotment may occur based on NEET merit, and counselling may continue if seats remain available after this second round
