Introduction Of College of Medical Science Bharatpur, Nepal

On August 8th, 1993, the Government of Nepal and the International Society for Medical Education Pvt. Ltd. (ISME Pvt. Ltd.) signed a contract to develop the College of Medical Sciences in Bharatpur. The institution's main objectives are the training of Nepal's paramedical workforce, the promotion of health, and medical education.

The College of Medical Sciences was successfully formed under the inspirational guidance of Mr. Nagender K. Pampati, a young MBA graduate from Boston, USA, who served as the managing director and architect of the university. Under the creative leadership of Dr. V. Natraj Prasad, a recent medical graduate from the same college and the Director of ISME PvtThe institution has since achieved steady development.

Professor A.C. Patowary, FRCPE, DPH (Edin.), the current dean of the College of Medical Sciences, previously served as professor and head of the department of community medicine at Guwahati Medical College as well as director of medical education, planning, and research as well as director of health services for the Government of Assam, India.

The College of Medical Sciences, which is associated with Kathmandu University and completely acknowledged by the Nepal Medical Council, launched the MBBS program in 1996.
