Introduction of Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) 

BDS Full form Bachelor of Dental Surgery is a 5-year undergraduate program designed to equip students with the essential knowledge and skills for a career in dentistry. The course encompasses both theoretical learning and practical training, covering subjects such as dental anatomy, oral pathology, periodontology, orthodontics, and prosthodontics. Students also engage in clinical practice, gaining hands-on experience in diagnosing and treating dental conditions under supervision.

The BDS curriculum consists of four years of classroom instruction followed by a mandatory one-year rotating internship. The program is regulated by the Dental Council of India (DCI), which also requires students to register with the council to practice professionally after graduation.

To gain admission to the BDS program, candidates must have completed Class 12 in the Science stream, with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology, achieving at least 85% from a recognized institution.
