  • Other seats notified under MCC's counselling jurisdiction.

2. State NEET PG Counselling

An allotment result alone does not complete admission. Candidates must fulfil the applicable reporting, document verification and fee-payment requirements.

What to Do After NEET PG Round 1 Seat Allotment?

Candidates who have received a postgraduate medical seat should immediately review the applicable MCC instructions.

Check the Allotted College

Verify the institution's name, location, MD/MS speciality, quota, tuition fees, hostel charges and service-bond requirements.

Review the Available Joining Options

Follow the current MCC information bulletin for the applicable joining, retention, upgrade or exit provisions. Candidates should not assume that earlier years' free-exit or upgrade rules remain unchanged.

Prepare Original Documents

Keep all original certificates, supporting documents, allotment letter and payment records ready.

Complete Reporting

For Round 1, reporting is scheduled from 26 October to 2 November 2026.

Confirm Admission Status

Ensure that the institute completes the required admission verification and updates the joining status according to MCC procedures.

Important: Failure to comply with the applicable reporting requirements may affect seat retention, security deposits and eligibility for later rounds.

Documents Required for NEET PG Counselling 2026

Candidates should generally prepare the following documents, subject to the official MCC bulletin and allotted institute's requirements:

  1. NEET PG 2026 admit card.
  2. NEET PG 2026 scorecard or rank letter.
  3. MCC seat allotment letter.
  4. MBBS degree or provisional pass certificate.
  5. MBBS marksheets and academic records.
  6. Internship completion certificate.
  7. Permanent or provisional medical registration certificate, as accepted under the applicable rules.
  8. Valid photo identification.
  9. Date-of-birth proof.
  10. Category certificate, if applicable.
  11. EWS or PwBD certificate, if applicable.
  12. NRI sponsorship and relationship documents, if applicable.
  13. Passport-size photographs.
  14. Additional certificates required by the allotted institution.

Candidates applying under reserved categories, NRI quota or special eligibility provisions must verify the exact certificate format, validity and issuing authority.

NEET PG Counselling 2026 – Round-Wise Admission Process

Round 1

The first round covers initial registration, choice filling, seat allotment and reporting. The final allotment result was released on 24 October 2026.

Round 2

Round 2 is scheduled to begin with registration on 6 November 2026.

Depending on MCC eligibility rules, this round may include eligible candidates who were not allotted seats earlier, fresh applicants and candidates seeking permitted upgrades.

Round 3

Round 3 provides another opportunity for eligible candidates to compete for seats remaining available after earlier rounds.

Participation, resignation and security-deposit rules must be checked carefully.

Stray Vacancy Round

The stray vacancy round is intended to fill eligible seats remaining vacant after previous counselling rounds.

Eligibility restrictions can be particularly important during this stage. Candidates should not withdraw from an allotted seat without checking the consequences under the current rules.

How Is NEET PG Seat Allotment Decided?

Seat allotment is based on several factors, including:

  • NEET PG All India Rank.
  • Candidate eligibility and applicable category.
  • Available seats in the relevant quota.
  • Choice-filling order.
  • Reservation policies.
  • College and branch preferences.
  • Counselling-round eligibility rules.

A higher preference does not guarantee allotment. The actual result depends on merit, eligibility, seat availability and the allocation rules.

NEET PG 2026 Choice Filling – Important Tips

Choice filling is one of the most important stages of postgraduate medical counselling.

Research the College: Compare academic quality, clinical exposure, patient workload, teaching facilities and location.

Check Complete Fees: Review tuition fees, hostel expenses, security deposits and other applicable charges.

Understand Service Bonds: Certain institutions may require service obligations or impose penalties for non-compliance.

Arrange Choices Carefully: Put your genuinely preferred eligible combinations of college, speciality and quota in the correct order.

Compare Previous Cutoffs: Historical closing ranks can help with planning, but they do not guarantee a seat in 2026.

Verify Eligibility: Check state domicile, management quota, NRI quota and reservation requirements before selecting options.

Lock Choices on Time: Avoid waiting until the final minutes of the deadline.

Candidates should verify:

  • NRI eligibility requirements.
  • Permitted sponsor relationships.
  • Documentary evidence.
  • Applicable quota conversion rules.
  • Tuition fees and payment currency.
  • Refund and forfeiture conditions.

MCC published an NRI-eligible candidates list for PG Round 1 dated 21 October 2026 and a corrigendum concerning NRI documents dated 14 October 2026.

Applicants should rely on the current official notices instead of using outdated NRI documentation checklists.

NEET PG Counselling 2026: Latest Schedule, Registration, Seat Allotment Result & MD/MS Admission Guide

Answer -

PLAB (Professional and Linguistic Assessments Board) is an exam conducted by the General Medical Council (GMC) of the UK to assess the knowledge and clinical skills of international medical graduates who wish to practice medicine in the UK.

Answer -

Candidates must hold a primary medical qualification from a recognized medical institution listed in the World Directory of Medical Schools, have completed their internship or equivalent clinical experience, and demonstrate English proficiency by passing IELTS (overall 7.5 with minimum 7.0 in each section) or OET (Grade B in all four sections).

Answer -

The PLAB exam has two parts:

  • PLAB 1: A written exam consisting of 180 multiple-choice questions testing applied medical knowledge.

  • PLAB 2: A practical Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE) assessing clinical and communication skills through simulated patient scenarios.

Answer -

Candidates can attempt PLAB up to five times. The fifth attempt is the final one; failure in all five attempts disqualifies the candidate from taking the exam again.

Answer -

Candidates must first create an online GMC account, submit their medical qualifications and English language test results for verification, and then book PLAB 1 through the GMC portal. PLAB 2 can be scheduled after passing PLAB 1.
